In the 1960s, Bob Jones was able to grow the North Carolina Ku Klux Klan from a handful of members to approximately 10,000. With that, the state was given the nickname "Klansville, USA". Refused to solute a black soldier. Many referred to him as "white trash". Never admitted to being a racist. Klu Klux Klan originated during the civil war, It is a Greek word for circle. Originally a club to scare slaves. At first they were doing it innocently but when they saw the reaction of the slaves, that's when it became more serious. In 1915, the image of the Klu Klux Klan was back in the blockbuster The Birth of a Nation. The Birth of a Nation sparked the revival of the Klu Klux Klan in the 1920s.
